Fainting Couch Re-do

As I’ve said before, I’m not a DIY-er. But…I had a Hubby who was—yay! Sad for him, but I love organizing a good “fix-it” project.

Several years ago, I purchased a fainting couch (while he was at a poker game). I knew that it needed a major overhaul—thus the low price—but it’s simply taken me a while to get around to pointing Hubby in the right direction. Here’s what we started with…..

During the process, my spouse and I discussed my not buying antique furniture without consulting him, as we had encountered some poorly done work by someone else. My spouse replaced three legs and the front trim board and then reupholstered the base. A seamstress sewed the top cushion; I know my limitations.

Since these photos, the living room has seen a complete re-do from dark colors to light neutrals. The fainting couch remains the same, though. Please take a peek at our updated living room.
