Charcuterie Board
My only contribution at a recent gathering was the cheese platter - so I wanted to make it spectacular. What do you think?
I abandoned the traditional thoughts of the perfect combo being three to five cheeses of different types. This platter was for family; consequently, I knew what we liked and went that route. We also live in a small town. We love being here, but the selections aren't as varied as in larger cities. On this platter, I used an extra sharp white cheddar and Gorgonzola. I intentionally served two white cheeses; yellow was not my color scheme. I tossed in a little salami because my guys love it, some nuts for crunch, and fresh berries for the sweet element.
In the winter, when fresh fruit isn't available, I enjoy using pepper jellies to add a little spice and sweetness to the brie.
We'll have to give this another go before the berries are out of season. Here are a few cheese plate ideas.
